FUTP 60 Kid Chefs to Attend White House Dinner!

Three FUTP 60 students are off to the White House to attend the Kids’ “State Dinner” hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama! Congratulations to Bobby, Grace and Reagan, who are among the winners of the 4th Annual Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, which offered the amazing opportunity for adults and their kid chefs to create and submit a healthy lunch recipe for a chance to win. Announcing Fuel Up to Play 60’s best of the best: The 2014-2015 Touchdown Schools! This annual recognition is awarded to schools that show they have a strong FUTP 60 team dedicated to working together to tackle all of the program’s Six Steps. This year, more than 1,200 schools from across the nation have earned this honor. See which schools made the list here. Schools that worked extra hard to earn this honor by April 1 received Touchdown School display materials to proudly hang in their school!

Congratulations to Connor Barwin of the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnny Hekker of the St. Louis Rams, Pat McAfee of the Indianapolis Colts, Muhammad Wilkerson of the New York Jets and the McCourty Twins (Devin and Jason) of the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans! Alaina, FUTP 60’s Missouri State Ambassador, is the winner of the Holiday Mail for Heroes 2014 Design Competition, sponsored by the American Red Cross and the St. Louis Rams.

30,000 copies of Alaina’s personally designed holiday card will be mailed to thousands of veterans and active service members and their families.

“With Funds for Fuel Up to Play 60, we were able to serve breakfast in the classroom. We went from serving breakfast to an average of 46% of our student population to serving an average of 89%. We also were able to purchase a recess cart and extra equipment for our students to utilize in their classrooms and outside during recess.”
